Made By God

“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness…” Genesis 1:26

What if you remembered today that you were thought up, imagined by, created by, and formed by the God of the universe? How would it affect your day today if you held onto the beautiful truth that God designed you, wired your personality, shaped you…..out of love….just because He knew you would be amazing….He knew the world would need you. He gifted you with your talents, skills, and character to touch the people in your sphere of influence. He made you out of the deep well of His love.

O how we forget! We get caught up in how much weight we might need to lose, or how we need to be more toned, thinner, taller, shorter….you know the drill. You know the deep angst in your heart about what you wish you could change. Sometimes I think we get so used to this thought pattern of wishing we were more this or more that, that it just becomes our natural inclination of thinking. We grow desensitized to how damaging these thought patterns are to our souls.

Ann Voskamp, in her book “The Greatest Gift” says,

“The authority of God made all of creation, but it was the affection of God that made all of His children. The answer to deep anxiety is the deep adoration of God. And the greatest gift we can give our great God is to let His love make us glad.”

So today, be encouraged, be strengthened, be comforted, that you are made by God. You are beautiful…so beautiful. Let His love for you make you glad.

Prayer: “Amazing Lord, thank You that You made each of us….You thought up each of us out of love. Help me let go of the thought patterns that drag me down into thinking I’m not enough, good enough, or beautiful enough, and imprint Your truth on my heart. Help me bring every anxious thought to You. Help me go through this day….adoring You. Thank You for loving me so much.”
